Electric Universe

Author: Kathy Runkle
Date: February 25, 2012

You've probably heard of "dark matter", although you may not know what it is.  It is one of the current popular theories proposed to explain our universe and how it works.  But there are other theories that are not quite as popularized and yet are still fairly well accepted, are well supported by experiments, and are peer reviewed, such as the electric theory of the universe:

Date: February 15, 2012

This amazing artist, Stephen Wiltshire, draws ENTIRE cityscapes from MEMORY.  Not only are his pencil drawings amazingly detailed and accurate, but to think that he doesn't even have a photograph to work from is nothing short of astounding.  He is a truly amazing artist.

Private Zoo in Australia

Author: Kathy Runkle
Date: February 15, 2012

This was a neat video posted back in 2009 about a private zoo in Australia.  Only two of the animals are featured - the kangaroo and the crocodile - but both have great big personalities.  The kangaroo is best mates with a dog and it is adorable watching them play together.  And the crocodile, also known as "Maniac", is the meanest croc around.

Bubble Football (Soccer)

Author: Kathy Runkle
Date: February 14, 2012

Bubble football (soccer for us Americans) is the most hilarious game.  I'm not really a sports fan myself.  I think sports like tennis and golf are boring to watch, while other sports, like football and rugby, are simply too angry or too violent.  But this... this was awesome because it made me laugh all the way through it.  If THIS was a regularly televised sport I would definitely watch it:

Inside a Dalek

Author: Kathy Runkle
Date: February 13, 2012

I had never even thought about what the inside of a Dalek was REALLY like.  I just guess I assumed it was a remote control device / robot thingy.  (That sounds so silly, now, even to me.)  But there is actually a human inside moving the apparatus about.  In this video Charlie McDonnell gets a chance to get inside a Dalek and make it work.

2011 Earthquakes

Author: Kathy Runkle
Date: February 11, 2012

This is a STUNNING display of ALL the earthquakes that happened in 2011.  I've never seen a video like this before.  I certainly would not have been able to picture all these earthquakes in my head without this.  I found the audio 'visualizations' also to be quite impressive.  Thank you for posting this, dutchsinse!  Much love.

Facebook Parenting: For the Troubled Teen.

Author: Kathy Runkle
Date: February 10, 2012

Oh my goodness, this has to be one of the best dads EVER.  Too many parents these days allow their children to be openly disrespectful, to sneak around behind their backs, and to believe that they should have anything they want.  Well, not this dad.  Wait until you see how he handles his rebellious teen daughter.  (Note: There are a few bad words in this, nothing over the top, but there is a little bit.)

Water Has Memory

Author: Kathy Runkle
Date: February 10, 2012

Water is so much more than merely something we have to drink to survive.  It is one of the most mysterious substances known to man.  The more we learn, the more mysterious it becomes because we CAN'T EXPLAIN IT.
